DL Group research Windows Service Consultant for one of its customers based in Geneva.
As part of the customer Server Support Unit, the consultant will be responsible for:
- Extensive knowledge in the installation and in the administration of various x86 compatible hardware platforms supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Extensive knowledge of LAN, WAN and Internet technologies and protocols. Implementing configurations related to SAN, multi-paths, security and user/group administration.
- Experience in administration of Windows Active Directory, DNS, File servers, Print Servers, DFS and Windows clustering.
- Extensive skills in installation, configuration and administration of Microsoft Application software such as IIS, Exchange, SQL Server and SharePoint.
- Administration of various dedicated services and infrastructure services running MS-IIS, .NET based applications, Google appliances & FTP servers.
- Good scripting knowledge will be an added asset.
- Troubleshooting any application or connectivity issues.
- Document monitoring and maintenance procedures.
Experience:
- Good skills in installation, configuration and administration of web servers using IIS, SQL and .NET technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills a must. Practical experience with interactive systems, advanced understanding of relational databases and applications.
- Knowledge of Service Level Management Principles.
- The consultant may be requested to provide ‘stand-by’ services during weekends, holidays and outside of the normal working hours.
At least 4+ years of experience in installation, configuration and administration of MS-Windows based environments.
